1. Introduction

html2email is operated by SHIFT LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension and our website (sendhtml.email).

Important: HTML content you create or paste (templates, email body) is processed locally in your browser or in your email client. We do not collect, store, or have access to the content of your emails, your templates, or your recipients — except when you explicitly use optional account/billing features described below.

Editions: html2email is distributed as separate Chrome Web Store listings. Pro subscriptions, Monetize billing, and related soft limits currently apply only to the Gmail & Yahoo Mail edition. The Mail.ru / Yandex Mail edition does not use Pro billing at this time; local processing and optional website analytics may still apply as described below.

2. Information We Collect

Website (sendhtml.email)

  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 (gtag) for pages such as the landing, welcome, and uninstall flows. We may collect pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), device type, and browser information.
  • Install / uninstall stitch: On welcome and uninstall pages an anonymous clientId (and optionally a build flavor such as Gmail/Yahoo vs Mail.ru/Yandex) may be passed in the URL query so we can correlate install → use → uninstall (or paid) without identifying you for ads.
  • Cookies: Analytics may set cookies on our website. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
  • Communication: If you contact us (e.g. by email), we process the information you provide to respond to you.

Chrome Extension

  • Local data: Templates, settings, insert counters, cohort/paywall flags, and similar data are kept in Chrome local (and session) storage on your device.
  • Anonymous analytics clientId: A random identifier stored locally for the life of the install. It is sent with analytics events and may appear on welcome/uninstall URLs. It is not your email address and is not used for advertising profiles.
  • Usage analytics (Google Analytics 4 Measurement Protocol): Anonymous product events only — for example which UI surfaces you open (popup, dialog, templates), which features you invoke (insert/copy HTML, save or apply a template, open link/validation panels, run link check, download preview image), monetization funnel events (paywall shown, paid subscription logged), and sanitized technical error messages from unexpected failures. Events include a build edition tag (app_flavor) and a short-lived session id. We do not send email bodies, template HTML, recipient addresses, or full stack traces.

Accounts & billing (Pro)

  • Scope: Optional Pro is offered for the Gmail & Yahoo Mail edition only. The Mail.ru / Yandex Mail edition does not currently open Monetize checkout or require a billing account.
  • Where Pro is enabled, subscriptions are handled by Monetize.software on our billing domain account.sendhtml.email.
  • If you create an account or purchase, Monetize processes authentication data (e.g. email) and payment details via its payment processors. We do not store your full card numbers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our website and extension
  • Understand install → usage → (for the Gmail & Yahoo edition) paywall → paid / uninstall funnels, and which product features are used (not your email content)
  • Process Pro subscriptions and provide customer portal / support where Pro is offered (Gmail & Yahoo Mail edition)
  • Respond to your communications if you contact us

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as follows:

  • Google Analytics: website and (when configured) extension Measurement Protocol events.
  • Monetize.software / payment processors: billing and authentication for Pro on the Gmail & Yahoo Mail edition only.
  • Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit (HTTPS). Email content and templates stay in your browser or email client unless you intentionally use third-party billing flows that require an account email.

6. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained according to our analytics configuration. Billing account data is retained by Monetize according to their policies and legal requirements. Local extension data remains until you clear it or uninstall.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold. For analytics, use browser add-ons or cookie settings. For billing accounts, use the in-app Account / customer portal or email us. You can clear extension local data via Chrome’s extension storage settings or by uninstalling.

8. Cookies and Tracking

Our website may use Google Analytics cookies. The Chrome extension does not use cookies for analytics; it sends events via the Google Analytics Measurement Protocol using local storage for the anonymous clientId and related product flags. We do not use this data for advertising remarketing profiles.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own (including by analytics and billing providers). We ensure appropriate safeguards in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

10. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date on this page.
